ASSOBASE, one of the 17 Sector Associations of Federchimica, the Italian Federation of the Chemical Industry which belongs to Confindustria, represents the companies, mainly multinationals, which operate in Italy in the organic and inorganic basic chemicals sector and in the surfactants one.
The Member companies of Assobase are 38 with a global turnover that amounts to 90% of about 8,4 billion euro, which is the turnover of the entire national market.
The products of the basic chemicals industry are the constituents of almost all the other chemical products and, in this sense, this sector can be defined as the fundamental sector of the whole chemical industry.
The Association is organized in three product groups:
•Organic chemicals;
•Inorganic chemicals;
•Surfactants and raw materials for detergents.
